Lockwood Inlet Association and USCG Station Oak Island working to dial in Lockwood Inlet see below for update.Earlier this morning we teamed up with the USCG Station Oak Island- Sr Chief Logan Adkinson and crew to do some buoy positioning recon. Boaters have had trouble after the dredging navigating since the aids are not repositioned yet. We where able to read the water and use the waypoints from the US Army Corps survey to lay a track line through the inlet. The channel is narrow but actually really good once you have the right line. It dog legs and bends so proper nav aids are imperative and that's what we where working on. Stay tuned and once we get them moved around we'll post an update. In the meantime if using the inlet do yourself a favor and put these waypoints in. Once we had them in our plotter today it was a game changer. Big thanks to Sr Chief Adkinson and crew as they have been rallying hard on their side for Lockwood Inlet. Their willingness to team up with the Inlet Association speaks volumes and something before Logan took over station Oak Island had never happened.
